Chanel Fall 2012 Vernis

I don't know what it is about Chanel nail polish, but it's probably the only makeup product I ever get excited about.  I know nothing about foundation or blush or mascara etc.  I very rarely buy makeup and have used the same products for years with the addition of a few necessary items, like bronzer in the dead of winter so I don't look like a corpse.  Nail polish allows me to experiment with cool colours in a way makeup doesn't (since I am challenged when it comes to application and I end up looking like a hooker when I try).  I particularly love Chanel nail polish because the colours of the upcoming season are always trend starters, anticipated and coveted. And who doesn't love the luxe look of the nail polish bottles themselves.

I'm not a huge fan of the 'Suspicious' colour but I am loving the neutral colour of 'Frenzy' and the greyish tones of 'Vertigo'.  Since Chanel nail polish is expensive, I usually wait to go through Duty Free on a trip to pick one up.  Look's like I'll have to do it at the end of August on my way back from London.  Perfectly in time for the beginning of Fall.

Givenchy has really been killing it recently.  While it has always been super coveted and widely loved, Givenchy's Fall/Winter 2012/2013 is leaving many people's mouths watering. A couple of my favourites:

Seriously excited for the Elin Kling for Guess by Marciano collection to come out! And even happier to hear it will be sold worldwide! Elin has a very lax style but pays much attention to the details. The perfect belt, low slung jeans and loose t-shirts are among her staples, not to mention perfect pumps! The Sweater

There is nothing like the perfect Fall/Winter sweater.  Every Fall I splurge on a couple sweaters for the season.  I splurge because I've learned that a great sweater is something I know I will wear for many months, and almost everyday because I love the coziness of them!  Last season I splurged on a Maje colour blocked beige and charcoal sweater as well as a Vince stripped mid-gray and light gray sweater. This season it's time to add to my cozy sweater collection! Here are my 3 top picks that are a splurge but aren't a thousand dollars each either (which if I had $3000 to spend on a few sweaters, I'm sure I could manage it quite easily)!

I can picture myself wearing each of these with jeans, knee high riding boots and a great leather jacket! I know it's still July but Fall is my favourite month when it comes to fashion.

Anja Rubik for Giuseppe Zanotti Fall 2012

Dreaming about supermodel Anja Rubik for Giuseppe Zanotti's Fall 2012 campaign photographed by Karim Saldi has me drooling all over my pillow. Actually I don't need to be sleeping to drool over this campaign!

Giuseppe Zanotti kills his fall collection by combining two of my favorite things; yellow gold and leather. The sandals in the first and second photo are worthy of forgoing rent for a couple months! Sizzlin!

Head over Heels for Fall!

So it's that time of year again.  When all the stores start putting out all their new fall apparel, footwear, bags and accessories.  It can be a lot easier to avoid the stores when trying to restrain yourself from shopping.  But it sure does take a super-natural force to ignore the endless emails that fly into my inbox everyday, happy to tell me about all the great new fall arrivals that can be found online.  And for this, I have no willpower.  Fall is my favorite season when it comes to dressing.  Im obsessed with leather coats, fur collars, scarves, ankle-booties, leather pants, oversizes sweaters, suede bags, riding boots and floppy wool hats.

I really love Balenciaga bags; the classic city bag in particular.  It's always nice when there is a designer that sticks with a signature style. It makes spending a lot of money on certain items that much more justifiable because you know it's not trendy and won't be out of style next season. These bags give and instant chicness to any outfit and I am loving the suede styles for the fall.   I'll keep dreaming/foaming at the mouth.

Dream Du jour

I didn't ever think I would really dig this Christian Louboutin purse, found here as much as I do!  Every time I see it online, it always catches my eye! I think it's such a great Fall/Winter bag and the size and shape are perfect! Even the chain strap allows for doubling up to shorten it to more of a shoulder bag.  The emebellished bow on the front flap screams, "I am an amazing present!!!" Note to the readers!
