48 Hours in Copenhagen: Part 2

Walking along the lakes
The second day in Copenhagen had myself and my mother on an adventure to find the highly recommended GRØD cafe in the hip Nørrebro area.  Grød directly translates to porridge, and that is exactly what they serve.  This wasn't your typical porridge.  No, no, this was the most delicious porridge I have ever tasted.  I chose one with toasted almonds, apple and a caramel sauce.

Torvehallerne Farmer's Market is located right by Nørreport Station.  There are several shops that offer flowers, meat, fruit, desserts, tea, chocolates and more.

One of the most original and clever ideas that I experienced for the first time in Copenhagen: It's not uncommon to see most restaurants and cafes with patios open year-round! With blankets provided on every seat and heat lamps overhead, you are as warm as you need to be and the novelty of it had me choosing a spot outside for dessert at a little cafe on the last (second) evening of our short trip!  In fact we were so comfortably warm outside, we definitely did not oppose to the ice-cream that was served with our delicious warm apple cake and hot chocolate!
